Taking Novels For Creepy Little Nightmare all-age series

Payment: 40% royalties for net eBook sales and 20% on net paperback sales OR Contracts will be paid out in the form of a purchase based on word count in the same vein as a short story rather than in the form of royalties.
Theme: Novels that are dark and scary enough to entertain adults but appropriate enough for their kids to read as well.

CREEPY LITTLE NIGHTMARES SERIES:
Our all-age horror series. Novels that are dark and scary enough to entertain adults but appropriate enough for their kids to read as well. This means that the books will be edited to remove things such as sex and gore. You can submit a book that was not written for this purpose, but you think could be edited to fit it. It is preferred that the main characters be under eighteen, but it is not set in stone.

Submissions being accepted:

  • Our Creepy Little Nightmare all-age series (See far below for details on that)

  • General novel submissions Adult/YA/MG etc.

  • Some novellas if they are amazing.

******CONTRACT OPTIONS: ******

Contracts will be done in one of two ways based on what is agreed upon by the author and publisher

  • Option one: Authors will be paid 40% royalties for net eBook sales and 20% on net paperback sales. Royalties continue after rights are reverted back to the author.

  • Option two: Contracts will be paid out in the form of a purchase based on word count in the same vein as a short story rather than in the form of royalties. For example: $0.02 per word x 80,000 words = $1,600 payout. An author under this option/agreement would receive *no royalties* and would instead receive the lump sum over the course of an agreed upon number of payments.

  • We are looking for Worldwide English rights for paperback, eBook, and hardcover. Audiobook and translation rights are negotiable. We ask for four years exclusivity, after which the rights return to the author. The Wicked House version of the book will, however, remain in print unless agreed upon by publisher and author.

  • Any and all costs related to the publishing of your work are paid for by this press.

  • Horror

  • Thrillers

  • Some fantasy and other genres if they are heavily influenced by the previous three genres.

  • >40,000 words

  • Twists. Suspense. Drama. Nightmares. We love everything from haunted houses and haunted towns, to demons, zombies, and aliens. Horror, thrillers, and twisted darkness are our thing.

  • <40,000 words (novellas) are accepted but have to blow us away.

  • Title emails as follows (Genre – title – type). Examples: “Horror – Scary House Book – Novel” or “Horror – Scary House Book – Creepy Little Nightmares”

  • All submissions should include the following: a pitch query including title, word count, etc (see online guides), a 1–2-page synopsis, and the first three chapters. All parts should be included in the body of the email, not as attachments. Attachments will not be opened.

  • No reprints. No previously self-publishing books.

  • Books must be 100% completed upon submission.
