It will be a collection of fictional short stories in which the protagonist will either be a girl or the short story will feature a girl. We’re aiming for the horror genre. Short stories should focus on a certain strange trait in a girl, whether the trait is physical (ex. Deformity), mental (ex. Demonic possession, telekinesis), creature-like (ex. Vampire, shapeshifter, mythological creature, mermaid, etc.), or supernatural (ex. Ghosts, banshees, wraith, etc.) or aliens. The author submitting MUST BE FEMALE. The author must retain full rights to the work intended for our consideration and that the work itself is complete and not published anywhere else (including personal websites or social media). Having been previously published isn’t a requirement, if you have a compelling story, send it to us! Publisher: Twisted Wing Productions Requirements: Stories must NOT exceed 8,000 words. Taking Submissions: Enchanted Conversation: Water Theme
Deadline: May 20th, 2019 Payment: $10 Submissions now OPEN UNTIL MAY 20 for the JUNE Issue Theme: WATER Enchanted Conversation is looking for stories and sequential art (aka comics) that use the theme of water in some way. The idea of water can be the ocean, lakes, streams, a pond, rain, a puddle, a backyard pool, or anything else you can dream up, just as long as some version of water plays a part or operates as a catalyst to the story in a fairy tale, folktale, or myth. Work can either be re-tellings of established stories or use original characters as long as they are set within the fairy tale, folktale, or mythic templates. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR "selkie" stories, (we already have one for the issue) or re-tellings of "The Little Mermaid" tale, as EC has already published many versions of that story.
