**Before sending us your materials, please read our submission guidelines. Any submissions that do not follow the guidelines will be disqualified from consideration.**

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. Fill out all fields in the form below. We cannot accept submissions that do not include a complete manuscript as well as a pitch letter.
2. The tastemaker will be reviewing pitch letters in order to determine which manuscripts to read fully. Your pitch letter is incredibly important, so take your time with it! Pitch letters should include the following elements:
The title and genre of your work and estimated word count

  • A brief overview of your story, with a strong hook. This should read like your book’s back cover copy. What leaves us wanting more? There is no need to give a full synopsis of your story. It is helpful if you can position your book in reference to any comparable titles that are similar, and call out themes the reader will encounter.
  • Your bio and background. Since we’re particularly seeking authors with diverse backgrounds, please indicate whether you identify with a marginalized group.
  • Your email address and the filename of your manuscript.
  • Aim for under 500 words.
3. Submissions must be original works of fiction that have not been published. We are not accepting submissions for previously published books (either traditionally or self-published) for reissue.

4. We only accept submissions through this form. We do not accept or respond to phone, mail, or social media DMs, comments, or queries.

5. If your book does not fit the description of what this tastemaker is seeking, please refrain from submitting.

5. Please be respectful. If you contact a Bindery tastemaker in any manner, including phone, email, DMs, or social comments, in order to follow up, pressure, or harass them about the status of your submission, you will be automatically disqualified from consideration and blocked from submitting to Bindery imprints in the future.

6. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we can’t get back to everyone that submits material, as much as we would like to. Bindery does not charge reading fees or provide feedback on submissions. If you don’t receive a message from Bindery within 12 weeks, that means we have chosen not to move forward with your submission.

Thank you for submitting your manuscript! We look forward to reviewing your materials and will be in touch if your work is shortlisted. Meanwhile, you’re welcome to follow along on Boozhoo Books’ Bindery Page for updates.

For Authors
By partnering with tastemakers, Bindery is able to surface important new voices the industry has overlooked—and launch books with the attention they deserve. Everyone gets to focus on what they do best: Authors write, tastemakers promote.

2x Industry-standard Earnings

Bindery offers a $10k advance and 50% of net royalties. In dollars, as compared to a traditional deal, this equates to 2x standard per-book earnings for authors. We believe that when a book sells well, the author should be the one to benefit most.

A Comprehensive Approach

Bindery’s books are created at Girl Friday Productions, a packager for traditional publishers and indies alike since 2006. Our books are distributed in retail channels in partnership with Two Rivers, an Ingram brand, and have traditional sales representation nationwide.

A Launch Partnership

Partnering with tastemakers to bring a book out relieves authors of the pressure to build their own platform, and puts the full strength of the tastemakers’ reach behind their book when it releases.
