Q: What are you looking for?
A: Fantastically horrific stories that blows our minds away.
Q: Will you edit our stories?
A: No. Other than general spell-checks and punctuation-checks, we will not touch your story. So, make sure you get your stories beta-read and edited properly. We are looking for the best story you can give us. If possible, get your stories edited professionally. Even a mind-blowing story might be rejected if it needs heavy editing.
Q: Is there a fee for submissions?
A: Are you kidding? No, The Hive is not a vanity publishing entity, and nor will we ever be one.
Q: If I submit my story, what are the chances of it getting picked?
A: No guarantees. We will subject your stories to a minimum of the two-level stringent selection process and only those stories that pass muster will be published as a part of Project#8.
Q: Will I get feedback for my story?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot send feedbacks as our team is small and the amount of workload on each of us for each anthology is immense. We will only send an acknowledgment of receipt of your story.
Q: I have a story that I have written already. Can I submit that?
A: As long as it is not available for public consumption, yes. If the story is in your blog, please remove it before submitting it. We prefer the entries to be previously unpublished and priority will be given to those stories.
Q: When will the results be announced?
A: June 30, 2021.
Q: If my entry is not selected, can I publish it in my blog or any other public domain?
A: Absolutely. Your story is yours.
Q: If my entry is selected, can I publish it elsewhere?
A: After 2 years from the date of publication of Project#8, you could do so. But please inform The Hive beforehand.
Q: Can I submit more than one entry per trail?
A: NO, Just one per trail. Send us your best story.
Q: Will I get paid if my story gets selected?
A: Yes. We will be sharing 45% of the nett profits cumulatively with all the selected writers. The royalties will be paid for a period of two years, semi-annually.
Q: Will this be an e-book or a paperback as well?
A: Both
Q: How many entries will be selected?
A: We will be selecting ONLY 8 entries across the four trails. (A maximum of 2 from each trail)
Q: Where do I send in my stories?
A: mail your stories to
[email protected]. Please mention “Project#8 – [Relevant Trail Name]” in the subject of your mail. For example, if you are submitting a monster story, your email subject should contain “Project#8 – Trail of Terror.” Also please name the word document as Story Name_Author Full Name.doc
If you are sending entries for all three trails, please send three separate mails with relevant reference in the subject.
We are able to accept only MS Word Documents for now. Please don’t send PDFs or links to Google Docs.
