GENRES: Open to Speculative Fiction (works in which the setting is other than the real world, involving supernatural, futuristic, or other imagined elements); Suspense/Thriller; Supernatural/Horror; or Science Fiction (or some combination of any of those genres) is acceptable. THEME: This anthology’s title is “Corporate Shadows” and is inspired by the recent net neutrality rulings. How you interpret that is up to you! SPECIFICALLY UNACCEPTABLE GENRES: Romance/Erotica, Middle School, Biographical, Autobiographical, Memoirs, Poetry, Non-Fiction, Western, or adult content.   WORD COUNT: 2,000 to 15,000 words. In accordance with Arc Book Club’s standards, stories containing pedophilia, overtly descriptive rape, or graphic gore will not be considered. Factors in anthology acceptance: How well it fits the theme of a given book; Quality of the story based on characterization, conflict, TWIST at the end, and how engaging it is; Word count, length, and formatting (while minor considerations, it indicates a certain professionalism about the craft); Technical writing quality: sentence and story structure, pacing, split infinitives, an overabundance of adjectives, adverbs, similes, filter words, etc. Quality of the manuscript’s editing/proofreading (again, both indications of professionalism about the craft) Failure to submit story according to guidelines will be cause for immediate rejection....

Examples: Does Trump get struck by lightening playing golf at Mar-A-Lago and develop superpowers? If so what would he do with them? Does trump win a pie eating contest against Russian mobsters? Does the Stormy Daniels affair really involve watching thirty hours of The Apprentice while Trump eats Big Mac's? Does Trump discover a transceiver in his MAGA hat that is sending his thoughts to the DEEP STATE? Does Trump build a wall so high it stops the second coming of Jesus? How does the secret service agent that goes on the president's Mickey D runs make it through the day? Does Melania fly her brunch crew into the White House? The anthology will be released by award-winning New York publisher Riverdale Avenue Books. Dark Rainbow will explore a wicked hunger within the LGBT sphere with exciting short stories that thrill the reader and all of their senses, but also send shivers down their spine. Taking Submissions: Monsters Of Any Kind

Deadline: July 10th, 2018 Payment: $100 Independent Legions Publishing is seeking original horror stories in English for the new anthology MONSTERS OF ANY KIND, edited by Alessandro Manzetti and Daniele Bonfanti, to be published in October 2018 in print and digital editions. An editor will email you back as soon as possible with the decision about your story. This can take a few days, or, up to three months. We make every effort to get back to authors in a timely manner but we get a lot of submissions so sometimes it's not possible. A note on our editorial policy: before publication we may edit the story for length or readability. However, we always remain true to the spirit of the story. Issues are published at the end of February, May, August, and November. We reserve the right to shift publication date slightly, as necessary. We have reading periods for each issue, though we never close to submissions.
