Welcome to 2021: Hope You Survive The Experience

Well. We’re in 2021.

After the ups and downs of last year (and there were plenty of both) it is time to recommit. We’re still a way off from everyone under the sun receiving the vaccine which will hopefully be returning us into a more normal world that we remembered but with hope on the horizon let’s A) not get careless and B) use this as motivation for a better tomorrow.

Even if you haven’t yet, it isn’t too late to set your writing goals for the year. Finish that novel or novella that you’re working on. Set or raise your daily word count goal. Get those words down on paper!

I’ve done something that stupid. As everyone knows I’m extremely behind on my free time. However, I’ve signed up for an MBA program so that’ll be one of my main goals this year. Also, I plan on finishing up both a novel and novella (these were both last year’s goals which I let slip to the wayside. The novel did end up close and progress was made on the novella so hopefully I can actually knock those two out.) On top of that, I have at least 3 areas I plan on growing the site (related to audio and video) and two side gigs I’m kicking off this year.

Will they all get done? YES! (Maybe? I don’t know. Part of me is in panic mode with what I’ve done to myself.)

As for the site, everyone knows that Stephanie Ellis is our awesome primary editor for Trembling With Fear. Honestly, I don’t know how the site would still run without her and I can’t throw enough praise for all she does! So, with that in mind, Steph has big news herself coming in this weekend’s Trembling With Fear (no, she isn’t leaving the site!) and for those who are ready to shower her with some welcome news you should really check it out! (She has previously revealed this in some areas of social media but I don’t recall it being announced on Horror Tree quite yet.)

As for you our lovely readers, what are your writing goals for 2021? We’d love to be able to help celebrate them with you, cheer you on, etc! Let us know in the comments below or on social media.

Bonus points for whoever names the VERY obvious geeky thing this post title is referencing. 😉
