This week’s writing prompt:
This Fall, and ahead of time for this year’s Thanksgiving, your protagonist and family are out turkey hunting. Camouflaged and packed with the right documentation, shotguns, and mouth calls, they hunt at dawn in a wild woodland, shredding its autumn leaves.
There’s a turkey nearby. It cackles.
Minutes go by, and the turkey doesn’t appear.
Then it cackles…from behind. Then another cackles, another and another, until your character and their family are surrounded by the turkey sounds. They can not see any bird though.
What happens next is up to you…Let your imagination run wild!
