Taking Submissions: blaekk #2: Fear

Payment: £10 per 1000-word story or £20 per 2000-word story

We are currently accepting short story submissions for the second edition of the new short fiction anthology, blÆkk.

blÆkk is a hand-bound quarterly publication that strives to deliver quality writing accompanied by beautiful illustrations. The first edition will be out on June 23rd. Each edition of blÆkk is compiled around a general theme, the second of which will be FEAR.

WHERE TO SUBMIT?

Email your submission to [email protected].

In addition to your piece, please add a short brief of who you are, approximately 100 words.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Short fiction of any genre.

There are no limitations as to how you interpret the theme FEAR. We encourage you to think beyond the horror genre.

Please note that we are currently not accepting poetry or essays.

DEADLINE

Monday the 4th of July, 2016.

We will let you know when we have received your submission, and you will know whether you have been successful within two weeks after the deadline. If you haven’t heard anything from us, please consider your piece unsuccessful.

RIGHTS
We reserve the right to the work for six months after the issue is out. After six months the work can be published elsewhere with a note saying it already has been published with us.

Resubmissions can be considered.

WORDCOUNT
Pieces must be either 1000 or 2000 words of length, with a 10% +/- margin.

PAYMENT

At Blyant we believe that all creatives should get paid for their work, so even though we are a brand new establishment we do offer a symbolic sum of
£10 per 1000-word story
£20 per 2000-word story

In addition, we offer a 50% discount to contributors on all publications from Blyant Publishing as well as other items for sale.
