Payment: $40 and a contributor’s copy

MYTHIC will be seeking diverse sci-fi and fantasy fiction. We want original short stories that have never been published. We are also be looking for varied nonfiction content including editorials, articles, essays, book reviews, etc.

Guidelines

Rights Purchased

We are purchasing First Serial Rights on all short stories submitted to MYTHIC.

Works should be between 2,000-8,000 words.
We prefer Times New Roman or Courier and 12 point type.
Please include your name and contact information at the beginning of the story.
Please include word count.
Submit in Word (.doc) format.
Please no simultaneous submissions.

Compensation:

At this time, we pay a flat rate of $40, but we do hope to increase rates as funding permits.
We provide authors with one free copy of the issue in which their story appears.
Payment made upon publication.

To submit fiction:

Send all stories to [email protected]
Your story should be attached as a Word file
Put “Fiction Submission: <The Title of Your Story>” in the subject line for fiction.
Please include your name, title, word count, and contact information in the body of the email.

To submit nonfiction:

Please pitch any Nonfiction before submitting works. Put “Nonfiction Query” in your email subject line.
If approved, send work by email. Put “Nonfiction Submission: <Title of Work> in the subject line of the email.

You will receive confirmation that we received your submission within one week or less.
