A new era of New Adult fiction is on the horizon with the launch of REQUITED, a dedicated imprint under Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (LBYR), a division of Hachette Book Group (HBG). Announced by LBYR President and Publisher Megan Tingley, REQUITED is set to publish its first titles in early 2026 with a boutique approach, releasing 10–20 books per year with a strong focus on author partnerships and cross-genre romantic storytelling.
A New Home for New Adult Fiction
REQUITED will feature fast-paced, romantic, and bingeable novels centered on characters navigating early adulthood. The imprint will offer a diverse range of immersive, escapist, and beautifully designed romantic fiction, ensuring that stories resonate with an ever-growing audience.
“The launch of REQUITED is a natural next step in the evolution of LBYR,” said Tingley. “We have a long history of publishing blockbuster Young Adult properties with huge crossover appeal, including Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, Holly Black’s Folk of the Air series, and Jennifer Lynn Barnes’s The Inheritance Games Saga. This imprint allows us to build a lifelong home for our authors interested in writing for older readers while leveraging HBG’s success in adult commercial fiction.”
Editorial Leadership & First Titles
Leading the imprint is Lisa Yoskowitz, LBYR VP & Executive Editorial Director, alongside Senior Editors Alice Jerman and Ruqayyah Daud. The team is focused on curating a list that balances fresh new voices with established authors ready to expand into New Adult fiction.
The inaugural list will include The Wicked Sea by Jordan Stephanie Gray, an enemies-to-lovers romantasy featuring a bloodthirsty world of merfolk and warlocks. Scheduled for Winter 2026, this novel promises sizzling romance, unforgettable characters, and epic adventure. Gray, whose YA debut Bitten (LBYR) releases in September 2025, has already seen international interest, with rights sold in nine territories through auctions and preempts.
