THEMES: Southern Gothic Southern Gothic wallows like a feral hog in the ambiance of the Gothic macabre, fused with the dark underbelly of the American South. With its lingering themes of insanity, desperation and decay, the Southern Gothic exhumes the pervasive specters of bygone rituals and pervasive racial obsessions of the South in lushly lyrical fashion. Nosetouch Press welcomes original short stories of the Southern Gothic, and encourages writers to expand its frontiers, while embracing its terrifying traditions.
