Taking Submissions: The Extinction Files
December 20, 2011 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Payment: 10 dollars per story and a free copy of the E-Book upon publication
Deadline: February 29th 2012
At the height of the nuclear scare of the 1950’s, President Truman commissioned the creation of The Extinction Files, a series of contingency plans created to counter every conceivable extinction event that could possibly threaten mankind.
The files sat in a secure location, collecting dust. Only The President and the Vice President, along with a handful of others, actually know of its existence.
Now, after decades sitting in silence, at mankind’s darkest hour, the files are once again being re-opened and now man must face it’s ultimate destiny – Death or Survival.
Alter Press is seeking previously unpublished stories involving the extinction of mankind. The tales can be as wild and unpredictable as you desire, happy ending or not, likeable characters or out right assholes. What I am NOT looking for is Zombies, Vampires, Were-wolves etc… Be ORIGINAL. If you do have a fantastic story about the zombie apocalypse and want to submit, it will be read and considered, but stories like that must be top tier and very original.
Word count is a strict 4,000 – 6,000 words
No Headers, Footers or Page Numbers
Use Italics, not Underlines
Place Contact Info and approximate word count on the first page of the submission
Since this is the first book for a start up publisher, payment will be a flat 10 dollars per story and a free copy of the E-Book upon publication.
Deadline for submissions will be Feb 29. Short submission extensions will be considered if author contacts the publisher prior to deadline.
Send submissions or questions to [email protected]. Please put Extinction and then your name in the subject line
